My 8 year old daughter hates getting her hair cut and her mother took her to Tocco kicking and screaming. The owner reassured her that she was going to look beautiful and that she will love her new haircut, so my daughter sat down reluctantly.
After about 30 minutes when the cut was finished, the smile on the face on my daughter was contagious as she examined herself in the mirror. She absolutely loved her new look and the owner was so good with her! I will be taking my daughter and myself to this place from now on.
i love my haircut!!!! this is such a wonderful salon and Jay, my stylist, did an amazing job. they make you feel you are in a spa and top it off with a great haircut - exactly what you want and with flair!
I happened into this Salon yesterday after living in haircut hades for thte last 5 years. I just had a cut for 40.00 plus a 10.00 tip 2 weeks ago and I was so unhappy after I got home and did the washing and styling I normally do. It was awful. I was ready to go by a hat or shave my head. I decided to try this place, I did not have an appointment, I discreetly asked how much for a cut, and was surprised to hear only 30.00. They gave me to Peter Kim, who was so soft spoken and polite! Very nice young man. I had 3 different pictures of hairstyles I liked 15 years ago, kind of long, layered, and wispy bangs. I told him I have been very disappointed the last several years with my hair, and he said you will be happy when you leave today, 99% positive. It was an understatement. I am SO HAPPY- 110%!! He is AWESOME. He took outdated haircuts of yore, and made it upbeat and very stylish. I had lost hope until Peter took hold of my rats nest. I am 50 with a lot of hair that I color my grey and I do pretty well with it. I am making an appointment today for next week for a color weave. He left my length, gave it shape, and took off the hedge on top. I would so highly recommend him. He listens. I asked for bangs above my eyes, he cut them, i felt they were too long, and he trimmed them. After, he kept saying beautiful...I think he was unsure of the bangs i had in mind then was won over with his artistry. At any rate, I am happy, my husband is happy because I am happy, and I feel 10 years younger! And he is very young so I do not have to worry about him retiring...If he moves, I will too!
Since this salon is within walking distance of my house I decided to be a brave guinea pig and try this new beauty salon. Fortunately when I walked out of the place my hair did not resemble that of a guinea pig.
A banner hanging outside said hair cuts $15. Much better than the $35 that I have been paying down the street. I called to confirm that 1) they cut men's hair and 2) the price. Well the price was $15 or for the owner $25. I decided to see the owner since I figured that she had a bigger stake in the place than persons just renting space.
From the outside Tocco looks like a house and the inside was a pleasant surprise. Nicely decorated and great design. Felt luxurious. This helped lower my blood pressure as I am always nervous trying out a nice place when my hair is involved.
Sonia (Kyung Ae Kim), the owner and President was very confident and told me "don't worry". She cut my hair very politely and took her time to make it "right". The result was fine except for my wife laughing out me upon my return home and saying to me "cute". Anyway - I am happy with the cut and will safely return again.
I recommend Tocco to try as there seems to be potential. The ambiance is very nice too. Sonia only charged me $15 and gave me a coffee mug as a present!
I totally cheated on my hairstylist :[, but dude we're in a recession and those 50 dollar cuts were seriously burning holes in my pocket..of course i still love my stylist to death, but I think i've found someone who's nearer and for the price, i would be insane to pass up...
SO my girl Jay and I decided we needed a fresh new look..more me then her. She just wanted a trim. So every time I'm headed to work I pass by this new salon. I don't think much of it, but today or well now yesterday while on a crazy hunt to find a place that does good cuts for a reasonable amount of money, I accidently yelp this place and my friend Jay remembers this place and thinks we should try it out.
I'm like o.k. BUT totally freaking out. Everytime i go to someone new, they always tend to leave me disappointed and I always end up back to my stylist and she fixes their mess...but happy to say NOT HERE!
The girl who gave me a fresh new cut was MAY. Young and hip and totally understood the look I was going for. She would also ask if she was cutting too much, what I liked, how long, etc. She was so nice and sweet I absolutely adored her. AND ok here's the best; part my fabulous new cut... $25!!! I think this is a promo since it's a new salon, but even if they were to raise it to let's say 35 it would still be super worth it!
I was so hesitant to write this review, but I hardly see people here and well I want them to keep their business going and not close down. Not to mention I would be one selfish biotch if I didn't write this review. It could probably help some poor lost soul out.
So why the 4 stars?..I was thinking of doing color and I was told it would be 100. Right now i'm on the prowl for good deals and well a hundie would be too steep for m, especially if you knew my hair because my hair is pretty thin so I just couldn't justify that. Maybe if it was thick then maybe so, but it's pretty thin.
So yes! I swear to you. I'm definitely going back to May when I need a trim or cut, but to my normal stylist when I really want my hair super styled and fab and when I actually have more dinero to go or even for color cuz it's still cheaper at my other place.
As for my girl Jay. Absolutely loved her cut. She was apprehensive like I was, but once she saw the end result she absolutely loved it! And she had some guy with long hurr. Sorry didn't catch his name!
